Condo is Rented

We finally got the condo rented this weekend. I talked with 45 people, and various friends in San Diego showed the place to 22 of them. After one month of showings I went back to my prospective renter spreadsheet and emailed all the people that hadn't given me a definite no yet. That was Sunday morning at 8am. By 8:30am, the 5th person I talked with - over a month ago - called and said, "I need a place now, can I move in tomorrow?" She checked out the place, liked it, faxed me the paperwork, and moved in the next day. --It pays to keep good notes!!

San Diego Condo for Rent

Our tenant is moving out next week so we're evaluating potential replacements. Let us know if you know someone in San Diego who wants to live in a cool new condo near the beach in Del Mar Heights...

Cupid's Castle

Here's the "castle"...
We stayed at this place for a weekend because Natalie won it from her work. It's in the middle of nowhere, kind of near an indian casino. The owners are very nice, there was just a little too much Renaissance Fair flavor for us.

Here's the website if you want to make a reservation.

Ski Seat Design and Test

This is what Joe, Mike, and I spent the whole summer on in San Diego. We worked 8-5 at our real jobs, eat a quick dinner, then work on the Ski Seat from about 11pm-3am every night.

We came up with our own design, made our own molds (mold for the carbon fiber hydro foils shown above), laid up the fiberglass and other materials less than optimally ventilated area, assembled the seats, footholds, seat belts, and even made it look somewhat presentable.

And there's Mike showing off the big air you can get on these things in the San Diego Bay. We only ended up making 3 and haven't fulfilled our goal of marketing and selling them, but the fun was in the journey.
