Skiing in Vermont
The best business trips are the ones you get to go skiing on. This time it was the Stratton resort. These are a couple of the guys I work with.
I like skiing in Vermont because you get to weave through the deciduous trees.

Greg and I sponsored a brick in downtown Capitola to help support the downtown beautification project and immortalize our impact on this small town.

Our streets may go in different directions, but we always know they'll come together many times along the way. Here's one of those times...
It's one month after graduation, I drove straight to Santa Cruz from Oakland airport to meet my family for 4th of July. My Ford Explorer there in the background is packed full of everything I own. Greg drove from Vacaville to meet up with us when we had a fortuitous encounter with this intersection.
Little did we know we'd be living together on the beach in Capitola in just a few months time.

This is one of my favorite pictures. Those are my feet on the bottom. I'm paragliding -- floating effortlessly and silently above Interlaken, looking at the Alps in the distance. A beautiful day and a peaceful experience.

This is the guy who set us up with our place in Monterosso. He works all summer getting people into his apartments, then takes the rest of year off to travel.

The main line was long at the Louvre so I remembered a side entrance that we used a couple years ago that is for tour groups. You can see it behind us in the above picture. We just walked right pretending that we were part of the junior-high tour group ahead of us.
After the Louvre we checked out the Catacombs. It's a long walk below Paris, about 5 stories down. This is where they put the bones of about a million people in the late 1700s. I've never seen so many skulls, strangely interesting.

Just after graduation I loaded up my Explorer with everything I own and am headed to the Oakland airport. I'll be parking in the American Airlines employee parking lot thanks to my Aunt, meeting up with Steve, and headed for Europe! As of the date of this posting we don't have an itinerary, just plane tickets in and out of Paris -- that's it! No reservations, no plans, nothing.
However, after we returned I went back to this posting and added the itinerary:

24 Interlaken

26 Munich

30 Amsterdam
July
