Luke eats a burrito

We found out Luke really likes burritos this evening at the concert in Cuesta park.
We love walking here for a picnic dinner and watching the bands on Thursday evenings -- wish they did it more than just 3 weeks in the summer.

Mountain View Moms

Natalie has an awesome Mom's group that she hangs out with here -- usually it's just the moms, but this time the kids and dads were invited...
Here's Luke hanging out with his new buddy who actually has hair. All the kids are ~9-10 months old. Getting together gives them a good chance to show off their skills and exchange war stories of the first months of life. It's amazing we got this many kids to sit in the same place at the same time...

Redwood City Date Night

With Natalie's mom in town we got to go out! We started off with wine at Savvy Cellar...
5 glasses of wine is a great way to start off a night out...
Then we ate dinner and watched an outdoor performance of Macbeth in the main square, but I don't have any pictures of that. The acting wasn't stellar so we left in the middle and walked across the street to see the new Batman movie.

Hiking at Rancho San Antonio

Still trying to check out all the cool hikes that are only 10 minutes from our house. This time was Rancho San Antonio with Natalie's mom.
Luke loved checking out all the animals at the farm in the middle of the hike -- especially the roosters and the cow.Big sunflowers!

Blue Jays

After Blake and Kara's wedding we spent a few days relaxing at the cabin. Luke enjoyed watching the blue jays come steal peanuts off the back porch. He's got good eyes; he could spot them way up in the trees.
This was the first time we checked out the cabin's community pool area -- it's awesome! It's got everything... big grass area, two pools, ping-pong, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, and a sack bar!
Standing is one of Luke's favorite pastimes...
The other favorite is boating...

Thermage Buying Reliant Technologies

My company is getting bought out by Thermage. It looks to be a great combination of two similarly-sized leaders in the aesthetics industry with complimentary products -- and may mark the beginning of more much-needed consolidation in our industry.

NEW YORK (Associated Press) - Thermage Inc., which makes an anti-aging skin tightening device, said Monday it will buy laser skin resurfacing company Reliant Technologies Inc. for $87.5 million in cash and stock in a move to boost sales opportunities in the U.S. and abroad.

Thermage will pay $25 million in cash and issue 23.6 million shares, valued at $62.5 million based on the company's closing stock price Thursday. Thermage also will assume $7 million in debt and provide $5 million of bridge financing to Mountain View, Calif.-based Reliant... (read the full article)

This doesn't mean I'll be making any money from the deal, but it's interesting nonetheless.

Half Moon Bay for Brad's 30th

First, we stopped by a petting zoo on the way so Luke could check out the goats and horses.
Cool shot of the kids playing in the sand...
We joined 5 other couples on the beach for food and beach football.

Happy 4th of July!

Patriotic little guy...
In this one you can see his 4 teeth...
We spent the 4th with some families from church at the Halls' place with lots of little kids running around. It was a wild party featuring games of Outburst and Blockus while watching Toy Story. Here's Luke and his friend Annelisse waving their flags...
Luke really likes corn too...

Dinner with an Albanian

We had the pleasure of welcoming Berti Berhami into our home tonight. He's an Albanian missionary who ministers to college students on campuses in Albania, Bosnia, Turkey, and Macedonia. It was inspiring to hear his story and I could've talked with him all night about growing up in communism and his thoughts on the Kosovo war. He enjoyed hanging out with Luke -- he has two daughters (age 5 and 9) back home.
