Luke's 1st Birthday: The Barnyard Bash

Last weekend we celebrated Luke's 1st Birthday at McKenzie Park in Mountain View. It was a beautiful fall day and many of our dear friends and family joined us for some barnyard fun. Even Aunt Lori and cousin Carly flew out from Texas to join in the fun! For his birthday Dave and I got Luke a wagon and Grandma and Pop made Luke a slide just like Dave had when he was young. The Barnyard animal cupcakes took me hours to make but I think they were a hit and Luke manage to eat a whole one.

Happy Birthday sweet Luke!!

Wine Tasting for Natalie's Birthday

Natalie was a little too busy last year to celebrate her birthday, so this year we made up for it.

With 3 other couples we wine tasted in the Soquel Mountains at Bargetto Winery, Hunter Hill, Soquel Winery, and ended in the Capitola villiage at the Armida tasting room.
We took a break at Hunter Hill and ate a picnic in the grass.
Audrey gave us the background on each winery in the car rides.

Beautiful scenery!
Natalie got to smash the grapes at the Soquel Winery.

Superhero Birthday Party

The "Channing House" is where I lived in Palo Alto from 2002-2004 until I met Natalie. We got the chance to go back this weekend, see our old friends, and celebrate a couple birthdays. Our superhero costumes were put together from what we had in the garage; I went as a space cowboy. Here I am with my old roommate and birthday boy, Broccoliman. Notice his utility belt, mini broccolis on his right and a tupperware full of ranch dressing on his left.
Natalie went as Butterflywoman, kind of like Catwoman, without the leather. Here she is with the birthday girl.

31st Birthday

Lunch at BJ's Pizza with friends. More low-key than the 30th birthday, since now I'm over the hill and all.

The Decade of Excellence*

Natalie figured I needed to do something active as I entered my 3rd decade to trick myself into thinking I'm not old. Well, we did it: snowshoeing, skiing, inner-tubing, and natural hot springing all in one weekend... in Utah.

The crew after dinner at the Wasatch Brewing Company.

* "Decade of Excellence" comes from Chris Mohler who is adept at naming his life seasons. I am hoping my 40's can be named "Decade of Affluence", we'll see how that turns out.

Natalie's Birthday!

Dinner at Pedros with friends to celebrate anniversary of the birth of the most wonderful beautiful girl in the world! Pictured: Will, his girlfriend who it turns out Natalie knew in L.A. but hasn't seen for 6 or 7 years, Emilee, Sara, Audrey, Charisse, Natalie, Dave, Francis, Joanna. Francis won the toasting contest. Good friends, good fellowship, good times. And we even got to preview Emilee's video of Will and I's 'Nacho Libre' skit for Younglife.

Natalie also received this incredible music video from Nick....

Natalie's B-Day in Sacramento

Celebrated Natalie's birthday with her family at the Firehouse restaurant in Old Sac. Dancing followed... too bad I don't have any pictures of that.
