Seattle Day 1: Fireworks at Angle Lake

If you're in Washington for 4th of July, there's a good chance you'll see fireworks over some body of water. This year was at Caleb's family's house on Angle Lake and the private fireworks show there was better than many professional shows I've seen. It started quietly with over 100 floating red flares on the lake to set the stage, then they set the fireworks off from a barge in the 'angle' part of the lake - the show went for a solid 20-30 minutes and I was impressed.

Throughout the day the whole neighborhood gets involved in the festivities - they compete in a run around the lake, swim races, volleyball, kayak races, and top it off with a huge potluck dinner. Good times.

Giants vs. Padres

The Giants lost in extra innings, but at least we had good company for the Game Tuesday night. The big stat of the night was the Giants leaving 22 men on base(!) -- twice leaving the bases loaded without scoring a run. The other impressive stat was Mike eating 532 sunflower seeds.

Craig's wedding

Craig, our good friend's little bro, and Elise, our other good friend's little sis, just had an beautiful wedding at a winery in Livermore, CA.

Matt, Keith, and I grew up on the same street in Sacramento, and we're still hot...

Great speaker, good basketball, spectacular friends, firey campfire, hilarious games -- an all around uplifting and refreshing weekend.

It's a boy!

Almost to the 6-month point and finally showing a little bit. Now we can start decorating the room with blue stuff, soccer balls, football helmets, baseball gloves, and UFC posters. We painted the baby room (notice the white stripes across the top, that was hard). Thanks for the help mom and gram!

Prom Hair

My amazingly multi-talented wife is extraordinarily good at doing prom hair...And hair and makeup for any other event for that matter. I'm impressed. This one was a Mountain View high school prom.

Maui Day 8: Exploration Complete

Now that we have sufficiently explored every inch of this beautiful island, it is time to head home to plan our next adventure.
